Life for Lara was extremely difficult physically, emotionally and mentally. She hated herself when she gained weight and couldn’t lose it as fast as when she was younger. Her health was deteriorating faster than expected. Having several health issues to deal with, she felt trapped in this endless cycle of taking her frustrations out on food.
Lara was not exercising; she had pretty much given up on ever losing the weight. Lara was advised by various doctors to exercise but when she did, she would give up halfway because she didn’t have enough inspiration to continue and hated exercising alone.
Originally, she came to us as a birthday gift to herself. Lara wanted to make changes so she spontaneously emailed two gyms she found on Google and Club Sweat was the only one that replied back. Lara liked the idea of the boutique style gym and that’s why she contacted Club Sweat. To her, it sounded like a small gym, which was what she was looking for.
For Lara, there was nothing scarier than watching and feeling herself deteriorate physically, mentally and emotionally. It was even scarier to think about what the future might hold for her, if she even lived that long. If she never got fit at all, she would start crashing to the point of no return. That’s why this was so important for Lara to do. She wanted to live a longer life knowing that she tried to better herself in all those ways.
Her original goal was to just lose the weight. Lara had this goal to lose weight from the age of 20. When previously trying to achieve her goal, Lara tried Jenny Craig. She failed at it miserably because the food was high in salt and the portions were ridiculously small! She ended up eating twice the food and was never satisfied after she ate because she was still always hungry.
Two main reasons that held Lara back from reaching her goals were lack of self-confidence and not believing in herself. Lara kept thinking that she couldn’t do this and that she would be laughed at when she wanted to try. Going to a big gym and having everyone stare at her was another reason that terrified her to achieve it.
Lara started coming to Club Sweat and the exercise sessions helped her a lot in overcoming her challenges. Lara now is more driven now than before. Lara says the best thing about working with Club Sweat was she was matched with a trainer that was understanding and did not look down on her as she explained her goals and listened to what she wanted to achieve. This has happened to Lara in another gym.
The biggest challenge Lara has overcome is overeating. She is physically at her strongest and she has more energy than before. Lara is super hopeful of the future with the improvements she’s made with her trainer Darek and Club Sweat. He has also helped her with her nutrition!
Lara is most proud of herself for emailing Club Sweat and looking forward to each session and accomplishing a lot in each one. Also, she loves lifting weights 🙂 and now she also wants to become stronger. Even though she is now healthier, she still wants to exercise and stay in shape at a gym.
Now that Lara is achieving her weight loss goals, her view on herself has changed. She is more hopeful and positive towards the future. The future looks brighter and better for Lara so as long as Club Sweat will have her, she will continue going to she sessions and improving herself for the better.
