Easily exhausted and fatigued from even the easiest of walks was insanely frustrating for this ex Dancer and hiker/walker. After being diagnosed with severe Anemia, Leah’s doctor couldn’t recommend strength training enough which is when she knew enough was enough and she had to reach out.
“When I originally signed up I was focused on overall better health. I wasn’t looking at much more than my stamina and how I felt after a good workout. Admittedly, my goals have evolved since I started. I am determined to get rid of the extra somethin’ around my belly, hips, and waistline and have lost the stubborn belief that I’m eating right and that I don’t need to keep track of my fuel (big mistake for me). I’ve also found my competitiveness coming out a bit. The Club Sweat community can’t be beaten. My goals have changed because of the gym and the people within it. I’m surrounded by inspiration daily.”
Leah has been a teacher for the last 16 years and is so happy that she joined the community before the world turned upside down. With a busy family, a son in his final years of high school, a daughter who lives overseas studying, and 31 students to call her own on a daily basis, you can only imagine that life must be stressful! “I let stress get the better of me (hello anxiety and crazy cortisol levels), which means I don’t always make time for myself, and have a serious weakness for chocolate cake and hamburgers…gulp”
Before joining Club Sweat Leah was unsure of who to turn to. That was until she did her research! “You guys have some incredibly positive client reviews. I checked out your social media too and I saw everything I needed to convince me there too: testimonials, video, photos, educational and informational texts … I needed to meet you guys for myself.” And the rest is history 🙂
Since joining the community Leah has completely overcome her fear of being judged, not feeling good enough, and not feeling strong enough. She admits that these feelings actually never happened. Leah said that she’s most proud of “My newly lifted butt. Not kidding. And my confidence in wearing shorts and short sleeves shirts because my skin has tightened with toning. Oh … and waking up effortlessly at 5:15 to be excited for the 6 am class. This is big for me! Annnndddd … my weight jumps at some of my stations. I’m getting stronger! And getting better with my balance again too.”
Leah, we are so damn proud of everything you’ve achieved since walking through the doors! Your new-found confidence brings whole new energy to Club Sweat. You have an infectious personality that truly brightens everyone’s day no matter if it’s at 6 am or 6 pm. Keep your encouraging ways, hilarious comments, and quirky ways coming! Everyone at Club Sweat can’t get enough!!
