Before becoming a member at Club Sweat Wilma was consistently tired throughout the day and really didn’t have a sense of “motivation” to work out. Her job involves sitting at a desk for 8-9 hours a day and the only sense of movement she would get was from walking her dog once a day. “I was tired of feeling lazy and exhausted by the end of the day, and I wanted to find something I was passionate about to get my body moving more.”
Before becoming a member of Club Sweat, Wilma was previously a member of a different gym but had always struggled with staying committed as her interest would fade.
Approximately 2 years ago, Wilma was told about Club Sweat from a good friend and decided to try it out and we are so happy to say, the rest is history!
“My original goal when I originally signed up was to get my body moving. With my job being so sedentary I needed to get up and move around, so I began with one class a week and slowly transitioned to 3x/week consistently. As I moved into my 50’s I could feel changes in my body that were not good. I was feeling more aches and pains throughout my body and by the end of the day, I was exhausted. I knew that it was time to bump things up as I am only getting older and I knew I needed to focus on living a healthier lifestyle all around”.
Before joining Club Sweat and realizing that she needed to focus on movement compared to weight loss, Wilma was always looking for a fast and easy solution. “You name it, I’ve done it! Weight Watchers, Jenny Craig, Nutrisystem, HCG Diet. I was always seeking quick results to lose the weight that would eventually come back. My focus has now shifted to maintaining a healthy lifestyle and focusing on how I feel, versus weight.”
“When enrolling at Club Sweat I was focused on ensuring it was a good fit for me and my lifestyle. My previous gym that I was enrolled at never motivated me to go, so this time around I knew I needed to enjoy the people, the space and the activities and that is exactly what I found at Club Sweat!”
The best part of working with Club Sweat is their understanding, patience and recognizing everyone’s different levels of fitness let alone the awesome community. The attention they provide to each individual is very important to me because even though I have gone to the gym before, I still want to know I’m doing the exercises properly without hurting myself.
Wilma is most proud of her commitment and dedication to making it to the gym 3x a week consistently for the past 4 months. “I’m continually motivated to make it to class and if a day is missed, I’m diligent about making it up later in the week. It is now a priority in my life. I feel more energized and I truly enjoy being there!”
“Achieving my goal of being dedicated to a workout schedule feels great! My body feels and looks better and people around me are noticing the changes. I am in less pain, less tired and I feel better! I’m no longer focused on a number, it’s more of a mindset and I feel so positive about my future as this is something that will be a part of my life for as long as I’m physically able! With age and dedication, my mindset has shifted toward a healthier outlook on life and I couldn’t be happier!”
