Life as an Athletic Therapist is busy, to say the least. Driving from clinic to clinic to treat patients and then sitting for hours along the sidelines of sporting events waiting for an injury to happen can definitely be time-consuming not leaving much time to put yourself first.
If you asked Jamie what her life was like 3 months ago, her answer would have been work..work..work, drive, work, sleep, repeat. Let alone mention she was also in school completing her Master’s degree in athletic therapy.
When we asked Jamie what the top two things were that held her back from achieving her goals, her answer was “time and priorities. My priorities in those months were other things, and those other things were time-consuming”.
Growing up an athlete and working in the health and fitness industry, Jamie knew the importance of movement for your physical and mental health but neglected to listen to her own advice. At times of discomfort or when she felt terrible, Jamie would go for a run here and there but being consistent was nothing but a pipe dream. She knew she wanted to create new habits while building a better lifestyle but she really didn’t know where to start. One thing she did know, was that the first thing she wanted to do after completing her masters was to look for some guidance and someone to hold her accountable. Her biggest fear was to make a huge investment in herself and not get any results. Turns out it’s been easier than she thought.
After doing what we all do, jumping on google to find the answer, Jamie came across Club Sweat Fitness. “Everyone seemed so approachable and genuinely invested in my success-It was so easy to trust them when I felt that way”. It was also a lot easier than she thought it would be. She says the hardest part was “just getting started”.
After weeks of being consistent (12 weeks to be exact) Jamie has a whole new confidence about her. She has not only dropped a whopping 30lbs and 17 inches all over, but she has also proven to herself that she can do absolutely anything she puts her mind to and although she is very work-oriented and loves her job, she will never put her health behind anything ever again.
